Guillermo Estrada: Destination Wedding Writer at HDC Photo

Guillermo Estrada is the destination wedding writer at HDC Photo. He writes the planning guides on this site, the ones that answer the practical questions couples ask long before they book a photographer: what the paperwork actually involves, how a wedding day in the Caribbean is put together, who does what, and what the whole thing costs.

His work covers the ground between choosing a destination and standing at the altar. He wrote our guides to a legal wedding in Punta Cana, the Punta Cana wedding day timeline, the real role of a wedding coordinator, what a destination wedding in Punta Cana costs in 2026, and how to choose a wedding photographer. He also keeps the Punta Cana wedding FAQ current as resort rules, legal requirements and prices change from one season to the next.

Guillermo has worked alongside HDC Photo founder Arnaud Brichet and the team for the past two years. He works in English and Spanish, which lets him confirm details directly with local venues, planners and vendors in their own language before anything is published here in English. Every planning guide he writes is reviewed by Arnaud, who has photographed weddings across the Dominican Republic for more than twenty years, so what you read reflects how these days actually run on the ground and not how a brochure describes them.

You can read his latest articles on the HDC Photo blog. If you are planning a wedding in the Dominican Republic and cannot find the answer you are looking for, ask us directly. More often than not, the question ends up answered in one of his guides.
